DOJ Wants Over Decade In Prison For Woman In Fraud Case

(Providence, RI)--Federal prosecutors want big prison time for an East Greenwich woman accused of stealing nearly five-million dollars through fraud.A sentencing memorandum filed by the U.S. Justice Department in federal court in Providence yesterday calls for more than a decade in prison for Monique Brady.Sentencing is set for next Tuesday for Brady, who has pleaded guilty to charges including wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.Prosecutors point to an extravagant lifestyle that she funded for herself through close friends and family by falsely telling them they were investing in an operation to renovate foreclosed properties.
