State Clarifies Childcare Announcement

(Providence, RI)--The state of Rhode Island now says anyone who is working and in need of childcare should visit Care.com/RINeed to find a local caregiver.Initially the state said this week in announcing a partnership with the website that this was just for workers on the front line of the coronavirus fight.Rhode Island residents interested in becoming caregivers can also visit that site to register. While child care services are not typically free, the Rhode Island portal allows for the option to waive fees and volunteer, which the state says would provide additional support to frontline workers. Care.com is offering 90 days of free service to the site, not the childcare itself.
