COVID-19 UPDATE: Governor Says 19 Cases Connected to Schools

At her weekly press conference, Governor Gina Raimondo confirmed that 19 current cases of COVID-19 are related to K-12 schools in the state. RI Dept. of Health Director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott reported that only 11 of the 19 people who are infected had actually entered school buildings. All of the schools involved have remained open while those infected were placed in isolation and will not be permitted to re-enter the schools until they are clear of the disease. Anyone who has had close contact with those infected, has been directed to quarantine for two weeks.
