Providence Drive-By Shooting Victim Was Recent Master's Graduate

(Providence, RI) -- We're learning more details about the victim of a weekend drive-by shooting in Providence. Police do not think 24-year-old Miya Brophy-Baermann of Warwick was targeted in the shooting on Olney Street overnight Sunday. Brophy-Baermann went to the University of Rhode Island and earned her master's degree from Northeastern University this spring. She had just started a new job at a nursing home in North Providence. A candlelight vigil was held at the scene of the shooting on Monday night. Police are continuing to investigate.
