Masks Or Vaccination Cards Required in RI Indoors

(Providence, RI) -- Wearing a mask or providing proof of vaccination will be required in most indoor settings in Rhode Island starting next week. The intent is to slow the surge of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations. Governor Dan McKee says it's time to act as hospitals statewide are at a breaking point. He says the state will publish a detailed document about the new rules by the end of tomorrow.

Meanwhile, about two out of every three people hospitalized with coronavirus in Rhode Island are unvaccinated. However, data from the Department of Health indicates hospitalizations are rising even among the vaccinated.
