Congressman Jim Langevin Will Not Seek Re-Election

Congressman Jim Langevin will not seek re-election. After 11 terms in the congress- Langevin said that he has worked to prepare the nation to deal with the threats of the 21st century.

He noted his tireless support for the military. And he said that he was most proud of his vote that he cast for President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.

The veteran congressman also noted that he was the first congressman in a wheelchair to preside over a session of congress.

The Congressman said it was time to chart a new course for his life- and to stay closer to home and to spend more time with his family.

Langevin said that he will always cherish the time that he was able to serve the people of Rhode Island.
