Providence Works To Increase Student Vaccination Rates

Officials are trying to drive up student COVID-19 vaccination rates in Providence Public Schools in order to lift masking requirements.

Rhode Island is allowing public school districts to take off the masks next week, but Providence is not ready to lift their mandate right away.

About one-third of the school district's student population is currently vaccinated.

A couple of vaccine clinics were held on Sunday.

Meantime, the School District is coming back from its winter vacation with a staggered start in Providence.

K, 1,6, 9 and 12 are returning to class.

Tuesday, Grades 2, 3, 7 and 10 return

Wednesday, Grades 4, 5, 8 and 11 will return
