Hearing Delayed For Burrillville Man In Dispute Over Guns

A federal magistrate judge on Tuesday delayed the release of a Burrillville man who was arrested after authorities discovered a large cache of guns at his home.

Ronald Andruchuk is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person because he had previously been arrested on drug charges.

Andruchuk is also charged with making false statements to purchase the weapons.

The judge continued Andruchuk's bail hearing until Friday, citing extensive new information in the case.

His attorney has pointed out that Burrillville declared itself a "Second Amendment sanctuary city" in 2019.

Andruchuk contends his interest in the guns were for collecting purposes.
