Federal Judge Says No To State Ban On Stun Guns, Tasers

A federal judge has deemed unconstitutional a Rhode Island law which bans possession of electric weapons on Second Amendment grounds.

Two Rhode Island residents sued the state in 2019.

Gun-rights advocates say stun guns and Tasers are an alternative for people seeking a self-defense option who don't want to carry a firearm. the only U.S. state remaining that has a ban on possession of electric weapons is Hawaii.

Neither the Governor nor the State Attorney General have commented on the court decision.
