Providence Police Warn Women To Be On Their Guard After Recent Assaults

Providence Police are warning college age women throughout the city to be on their guard after a man reportedly broke into several homes and assaulted them.

Police say they are investigating three incidents in the Elmhurst neighborhood of the city.

Police suggest that women stay with friends, keep your cellphone near you and always be aware of your surroundings.

At least one of the women were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. In that case police say the Pembroke Avenue woman was sexually assaulted and then the suspect made off after stealing several items. Another incident was reported on Pinehurst Avenue. In that case the suspect was scared off after the woman screamed.

A third incident on Radcliffe Avenue.

Police say they believe one of the common threads is that the suspect entered the homes through open windows.
