RI Man Charged In Motorcycle Crash In Massachusetts

The suspect in the crash that injured a group of motorcyclists from Connecticut riding together in Western Massachusetts on Memorial Day weekend has been identified.

The Northwestern District Attorney's Office says Ryan O'Farrell, 32 of Westerly, Rhode Island is charged with counts including OUI-drugs causing serious injury and child endangerment.

O'Farrell and two young passengers were reportedly in an SUV with a trailer attached that hit five bikes driving the opposite way on Main Street in Northfield on Sunday.

Eight people from the bike pack were taken to hospitals, including two listed as critical at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

The Northfield Police Chief says that all the bikers were from Connecticut, were not doing anything wrong and were traveling to Vermont to get some barbecue.

O'Farrell is due for a court arraignment on Tuesday.
