Cong Cicilline Supports POTUS Approach To Ending Gun Violence

Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline is on-board with President Biden's call for gun control.

Biden on Thursday night called for, among other things, a ban on military-style assault weapons.

Cicilline noted in a tweet that he introduced an assault weapons ban bill last year.

Meanwhile in Providence, Second Amendment supporters rallied at the State House on Thursday over a spate of gun control bills that have been introduced in the Rhode Island General Assembly in response to the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

The House is expected to vote next week on a series of gun control measures. But it is unclear whether the Senate will take up the measure.
