West Warwick Mill To Become Market Rate Apartments

State and national leaders say the redevelopment of the historic Artic Mill will add new housing options and commercial space while preserving a piece of the state's heritage.

The two textile mill buildings along the Pawtuxet River in West Warwick date back to the 1800s.

They will be developed into a mixed-use complex with 136 rental apartments and retail and office space.

Most but not all of the apartments will be market rate.

Officials say the development is expected to cost around 33-million-dollars.

No timetable for completion has been set.
