Rhode Island state Senator Tiara Mack is facing some criticism for a TikTok video she posted over the weekend.
Mack uploaded herself in a bikini at the beach "twerking".
At the end of the video, Mack encourages everyone to vote for her.
The Senator is in her first term representing Providence. She considers herself a "progressive".
Governor McKee while out on the road was asked to comment. He told reporters he had not seen the video and asked what twerking was.
Mack's opponent Adriana Bonilla, a Republican told NBC 10 that she has respect for all people but after she looked at the video she was "left without words."
The Senator told the station meantime that it is disappointing what is considered newsworthy in the state.
