Drought Continues Despite Showers

The National Drought Monitor Report shows all of Rhode Island in a Severe Drought.

The only exception that is the southern part of the state around Westerly.

Less than a half inch of rain fell in the month---and the deficit is more than 2 inches for this month alone.

Now we did have a few passing showers through parts of the area this morning. But those showers did little to stop the trends.

Friday and Saturday might be the best chance for rain this week--but that is not a certainty.

And then Monday and Tuesday of next week, according to the people in the weather center.
