Warwick Police To Wear Body-Worn Cameras

In Warwick, police there say beginning Tuesday they will begin its body-word camera program.Sixteen officers will participate to begin with. The sixteen will allow cameras to be on the road 24 hours a day.

Colonel Bradford Connor of the Warwick Police Department says it will start as a pilot program for approximately two months and then be expanded from there.

The Colonel says that implementation of the program, using Axon cameras is instrumental to building relationships and establishing another level of accountability.

The statewide program was established back in 2020.
