Farmers: Damage Done- Rains Too Little -Too Late To Help

The heavy rains that hit much of the state this week didn't do quite nearly enough for the state farmers.

They say it was far too little, far too late to help them.

Corn and Hay Farmers were the hardest hit.

They lost a lot and many are contemplating the future.

One Coventry Farmer, Tim Gallagher, who grows corn and tomatoes says things were so bad that between the drought and inflation it wasn't worth it to even start a crop. He tells Fox Weather the damage had been done long ago.

The corn is smaller than usual.

The Agriculture Department says the price for a bushel of corn is over seven dollars.

There is no good news in the latest Drought Monitor Report.

It shows the entire state in a severe drought.
