N-K School Superintendent Leaves After Dispute With Committee

Turmoil is continuing in the North Kingstown School District.

The resignation of interim superintendent Judy Paolucci was accepted by the school board on Monday as Paolucci walked out of the meeting, saying it was "dangerous" for her to stay.

The Superintendent was expected to leave the post next month, but the school committee opted to make it official immediately.

Paolucci said there was a lack of support from the committee regarding the work that needs to be done for the district to regain its reputation.

Several administrators previously resigned in the fallout of the scandal from the former boys basketball coach being charged with sexually-assaulting his players.
