CODAC Fighting Court Over Mobile Methadone Clinic

A mobile methadone clinic in Woonsocket is refusing to comply with a cease-and-desist order from the city.

CODAC Behavioral Healthcare has been operating out of a lot on 800 Clinton Street since last summer.

The city says the clinic is in violation of zoning ordinances, but CODAC has responded by saying the lot is owned by the nonprofit Community Care Alliance, which gave the OK.

The mobile clinic operated in a city which recorded the highest number of overdose deaths in 2021.

A legal fight over the issue is expected.

The mayor's office and city solicitor have not provided a comment.
