Day Two Of Trial Of Pawtucket Officer In Off Duty Shooting

The jury in the trial of a Pawtucket Police officer charged in the shooting of a teenager is hearing opening statements.

Lawyers seated a jury yesterday and following opening statements witness testimony will begin.

Daniel Dolan is charged with multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon for the 2021 shooting and wounding of Dominic Vincent.

Prosecutors say the officer had no standing in West Greenwich where the incident happened.

He's accused of shooting Vincent without cause during a confrontation in a West Greenwich parking lot.

Vincent, in his first day on the witness stand testified that he remembered the officer flashing a badge, but never thought it was real.

Testimony will continue today.
