Judge In Hospital After Being Struck By Car Outside Statehouse

Rhode Island Superior Court Judge Richard Licht was hit by a car near the State House on Wednesday.

The Providence Police Department says the 74-year-old Licht, the former lieutenant governor of the state, was seriously injured when this happened at around 6:30 p.m.

The judge was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

He was last listed in critical, but stable condition.

Authorities have not announced charges against the motorist at this time.
