State DEM Updates Death Of Swan In Warwick

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management has provided an update about a wild animal death.

The DEM said last week that a swan was shot dead in the Gaspee Point neighborhood of Warwick, which could have led to a felony charge.

Officials now say it appears the swan was killed by a combination of bird flu and then an attack from a coyote.

An avian flu outbreak that began in 2020 has killed millions of poultry and waterfowl in the U.S.
