Governor Thankful For Firefighters- And No Loss Of Property After Blaze

Governor Dan McKee toured the area affected by a massive brush fire in Exeter on Monday.

The fire in the Queen River Nature Preserve area that started on Friday burned about seven-hundred acres and forced the evacuation of dozens of neighboring residents.

McKee said thankfully there was no property damage, and he commended first responders who have almost fully-contained the blaze.

Camping is not allowed in the nature preserve, but officials say they found evidence of a campsite which may have been responsible.
