The Memorial Day Holiday means that state government, schools and bank business is all closed today. There is no mail. Some stores may be open.
There have been a good number of parades marking the day all throughout the state. And the parades will continue today with among others;
The Barrington Parade steps off at 9 this morning from the high school.
The East Greenwich Parade is at 10 and starts from Academy Field.
Also at 10 the East Providence Parade begins at Old Oldham School. In addition, the North Kingstown Parade starts on West Main Street.
The Pawtucket Memorial Day event begins at 11 this morning at the Veterans Memorial Amphitheater.
At 1pm today at The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter a solemn ceremony is scheduled.
