Governor Releases Controversial Email Without Comment

Following the submission of public record requests, Governor Dan McKee's office has released more details about a controversial state-sponsored trip to Philadelphia.

An email was sent to McKee's chief of staff by Scout L-T-D, an urban design company under contract to redevelop the Cranston Street Armory in Providence.

During the visit to Philly in March, Rhode Island Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance director David Patten allegedly made aggressive demands to Scout in exchange for the 55-million dollars the state was planning to invest.

He also allegedly said he hated China to an employee at a sneaker store.

Patten has been placed on paid leave.

Governor McKee's office says he will not be commenting on the issue since an investigation is on-going.
