Key Issues Still Pressing After Legislature Adjourns

The Rhode Island General Assembly is concluding its 2023 session.

The legislature worked until nearly 2 a.m. Friday to pass a 14-billion-dollar state budget.

Governor Dan McKee has signed the budget, and he will now go through the bills that were sent to his desk.

One measure that did not make the cut this session was reforming the Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights.

House Speaker Joseph Shekarchi thinks LEOBOR reform will likely get taken up in 2024.
