Senator: Putin Weakened By Weekend Revolt Effort

Senator Jack Reed believes the brief revolt staged mercenaries in Russia over the weekend has weakened Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Rhode Island Democrat said it signals considerable political turmoil.

Meantime, it appears Russian President Putin is honoring a deal made with Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Prigozhin agreed to exile in Belarus in exchange for terrorism charges to be dropped.

Reed who is chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said it's a Russian problem and the U.S. had nothing to do with it.
