Officials Say State All Clear Of West Nile Virus

Summer weather has arrived in Southern New England, and you might be hearing the high-pitched sounds of mosquitoes returning to your backyard.

So far, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management says there have been no findings of West Nile virus or triple-E disease in mosquito samples.

The DEM says Rhode Islanders might notice the Asian Tiger mosquito, which has become prevalent in urban areas.

Officials say this insect feeds during the daytime, and it has a striking black-and-white pattern.
