State Beaches Open- But Some Don't Have Lifeguards

Five Rhode Island beaches are open without lifeguards this long Fourth of July weekend.

The state Department of Environmental Management said even though it has more lifeguards than last summer, about 50 more are needed.

The beaches without lifeguards are Burlingame State Park, Fort Adams State Park, East Beach, Pulaski State Beach and George Washington Campground.
