"Forged" Signatures Subject Of Afternoon Meeting

The Rhode Island Board of Elections is scheduled to meet this afternoon to discuss the September primary ballot in the 1st Congressional District race.

The campaign of Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos is under fire for allegedly forging petition signatures in East Providence, Newport and Jamestown.

A statement released from the Matos campaign denies that they encouraged the fraud, which is under investigation by the attorney general and state police.

The Providence Journal reports Holly McClaren, who was featured in a campaign ad last year for Governor Dan McKee, is no longer working for the Matos campaign after the scandal broke.
