Demolition Of Historic School Would Be "Heartbreaking"

Elected officials are not in favor of a proposal to demolish Mount Pleasant High School in Providence.

The Rhode Island Department of Education and the Providence Public School District revealed that the option is on the table.

State Representative David Morales asserts there was overwhelming opposition to knocking down the historic neighborhood high school at the meeting.

State Senator Samuel Bell added that the demolition of Mount Pleasant would be "heartbreaking" and that students deserve a renovated school instead.
