Providence Murder Suspect Apprehended

Providence is now up to ten homicides in 2023.

The Providence Police Department announced on Thursday that a man who was shot in the head on Texas Avenue last weekend has died.

The 38-year-old victim was not immediately identified, but police did ID the suspect as Nikkolas Adams, who is charged with second-degree murder.

Authorities have also arrested the suspect in homicide number-9 in the capital city this year.

Yomar Espada allegedly stabbed William Sarmiento to death on Sterling Avenue on Wednesday.

Espada was staying at Sarmiento's home, and police say they got into an argument.
