State Delegations Reacts To Latest Trump Indictment

Members of the Rhode Island congressional delegation reacted Tuesday night to the latest indictment of former president Donald Trump.

enator Sheldon Whitehouse said, "There are few more serious crimes a president can be charged with than attempting to subvert the will of the American people to stay in power. This proceeding needs to play out peacefully and fairly in the justice system, and I hope our democracy will emerge stronger from it."

Representative Seth Magaziner added that Donald Trump knew he lost the 2020 election, but still used lies and intimidation to try to overturn the results and rob the American people of their right to choose their own leaders.

Magaziner added that despite Trump's efforts, our democracy did not break on January 6th, 2021.

Trump will be in a DC Federal Court tomorrow.
