NWS Confirms Five Tornados- One Through State

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a total of five tornadoes touched down in Southern New England last Friday.

The first one spawned in Scotland, Connecticut.

The strongest tornado, an EF-2, hit Rhode Island in Johnston, North Providence and Scituate.

A driver on Interstate 295 avoided injuries after their vehicle was lifted ten feet in the air before coming back down.

Tornado activity also happened in Massachusetts, in North Attleboro, Mansfield, Stoughton and Weymouth.
