A Hartford police officer was arrested and charged with sexual assault last month on Block Island.
Officer Justin Damone of Glastonbury is charged with first degree sexual assault in Rhode Island following the allegations made by a 21-year-old woman.
Damone is a four year veteran of the Hartford Police department, and has been suspended without pay following his arrest.
The police arrest report says Damone forcibly groped the woman at a bar during a night of heavy drinking.
