Governor: Prepare Now For Potential Storms

Governor Dan McKee says his administration is mobilizing state agencies in preparation for the potential impacts of Hurricane Lee.

McKee is asking Rhode Islanders to closely monitor the situation this weekend and prepare now with food, batteries, medicine and whatever else they may need.

The National Weather Service has included Newport and Washington Counties, as well as Block Island, in a Tropical Storm Watch.

Hurricane Lee is predicted to avoid making a local landfall, but instead will make a close pass east of Cape Cod.
