Carols And Lights-And Two Perfect Trees

The Providence Mayor is in the holiday spirit a little early. The Mayor looking for two perfect Christmas Trees that will be seen at the Providence Rink in Kennedy Plaza starting December 1 st. The Mayor is looking for two spruce or fir trees between 35 and 45 feet tall.

If you have the winning trees you are asked to send a picture of that tree to Allison Barry at the Cultural Affairs Office--- (abarry@providenceri.gov). The Forrestry Department of the city will cut down the tree and transport it.

The winning tree owner will be photographed with Mayor Brett P. Smiley in front of the tree during the lighting ceremony, which will be held on Friday, December 1 at 5:00 pm at the Providence Rink: Bank Newport City Center, 2 Kennedy Plaza, Providence.

The ceremony coincides with exciting holiday lighting and programming from City partners, including the Providence Warwick Convention Bureau and the Providence Tourism Council.
