Bristol, State Look To Reduce Deer Population

The town of Bristol and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management are aiming to reduce the deer population in the town with the help of bow-and-arrow hunters.

There are four town-owned parcels that were opened last month to archery deer hunting.

You can view maps of the parcels online at Bristol-RI-dot-gov.

The season will run through January 31st.

Officials say many Bristol homeowners have complained about deer causing damage to gardens and other property, and there has also been a spike in motor vehicle collisions.
