A vigil was held on Monday at the Jewish Community Center in Providence with the war between Israel and Hamas on everyone's minds.
Governor Dan McKee, Congressman Seth Magaziner and Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse pledged support for Israel.
Whitehouse said, quote, "In my view, Hamas has forfeited its right to exist".
Governor McKee said that Rhode Island will stand with Israel.
Since Hamas's initial attack over the weekend, the death toll on both sides has risen to over 15 hundred.
Several families of multiple Rhode Islanders who are currently living in Israel have been unable to contact them in the aftermath.
