In Woonsocket- the Mayor Lisa Baldelli Hunt has abruptly resigned sighting health reasons for her decision.
The mayor says that her health issues have not been resolved as she had hoped.
The mayor had come under fire for a land deal that she made with a former business associate.
By Charter, the City Council President becomes the Interim Mayor, and a Special Election will have to be scheduled.
No date has been announced.
