Protests Turn To Arrests After Brown University Sit In

Eighteen protesters were arrested at Brown University Wednesday, during a demonstration against the Israel/Hamas war.

Members of the group BrownU Jews for Ceasefire Now staged a sit-in at the administration building.

They called on university President Christina Paxson to commit to the school's divestment of companies profiting from the war.

University officials say its focus remains on supporting the safety of students, faculty, and staff who have ties to the region and feel impacted by the ongoing events.
