Fed To Review Washington Bridge Decisions

Federal officials are investigating the recent partial closure of the Washington Bridge.

The U.S. Department of Justice and Office of the Inspector General are reportedly looking into the December 11th shutdown of the westbound side of the bridge.

This, documents say, is to determine whether false claims for payment or related services may have been filed with the federal government after work was completed on the bridge in July of last year.

The investigators are seeking information and correspondence, regarding inspections, repairs, and maintenance of the bridge back to 2015.

A spokesperson for Governor Dan McKee says state officials are cooperating with the investigation.
