Barbie To Ken: Time For Change At Cranston City Hall

State Representative Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung officially opened her campaign for the mayor's office Tuesday night.

Fenton-Fung, who is married to former Mayor Allen Fung is seeking the Republican nomination against the incumbent, Ken Hopkins.

"Tonight, Ken, this Barbie has considered all of her options, and I have made my choice. It's time for a change on the third floor of city hall," said Fenton-Fung, the Cranston State Rep..

While indicating her plans to improve the city's economy, infrastructure, and housing investments, the rift between Fenton-Fung, her husband, and Hopkins was present.

Hopkins refuted Fenton-Fung's allegations that the city is in decline and said his record as Mayor speaks for itself.

The winner is likely to face Councilman Robert Ferri, who is running for the Democratic nomination.
