Dozens Of Dogs Removed From Pawtucket Home

More than 40 dogs were removed from deplorable conditions at a home in Pawtucket on Monday.

A complaint led police and the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to the home on Senate Street.

RISPCA officials say the dogs were all matted, dirty, and in poor condition.

They will be cleaned and evaluated by a veterinarian at the Pawtucket Animal Shelter before any decision is made on where they will go.

The owner, however, has refused to surrender the animals.

Charges have not yet been filed against the two residents of the house.
